Commuter Options Spotlight

The Commuter Options program allows inner city workers to get good paying jobs in the suburbs by providing vehicles for their use, as SEPTA has very minimal service to many parts of the suburbs. Check out this recently published Op-Ed on the program by our Director, John Dodds.

Jobs Club Spotlight

Long time PUP member Derrell (right) has been working hard to find employment, and he just let us know that his persistence has paid off. Working with our jobs developer, he was able to ace his interview and is now working with Sovereign Security at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Congrats Derrell!

 

There was a rally at the Capitol in Harrisburg at 11 a.m. and another rally at Penn Square in Lancaster at noon.

The current minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25. Proponents of raising the minimum wage say an increase would help families afford the basic expenses of life. Critics say raising the wage would kill jobs.
