Commuter Options Spotlight

The Commuter Options program allows inner city workers to get good paying jobs in the suburbs by providing vehicles for their use, as SEPTA has very minimal service to many parts of the suburbs. Check out this recently published Op-Ed on the program by our Director, John Dodds.

Jobs Club Spotlight

Long time PUP member Derrell (right) has been working hard to find employment, and he just let us know that his persistence has paid off. Working with our jobs developer, he was able to ace his interview and is now working with Sovereign Security at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Congrats Derrell!



May 8, 2014 - Raise the Wage PA gathered today all across the state of Pennsylvania to rally for an increase in the minimum wage.

In Erie Dozens gathered outside of the McDonald's along west 12th and Sassafras Street this afternoon. The group says over 1 million struggling Pennsylvania workers would get a raise the state minimum wage increased to at least $10.10/hour. Activist want to tell politicians that Pennsylvania families deserve better.

In Pennsylvania the Gen. assembly last voted to raise the state minimum wage in 2006 from $5.15 an hour to $6.25.

In 2009 the federal minimum wage increased from $6.55 an hour to $7.25 which also increase the wage in Pennsylvania
