Category: Issues

PUP’s focus on addressing the needs of the poor extends beyond finding jobs.  There is a significant need in Philadelphia for commuter options for Philadelphians without access to a personal vehicle who work in outlying suburban locations. For those workers, PUP is involved in organizing vanpools.

The housing crisis continues for many middle and low-income families and PUP has been instrumental in helping families keep their homes.

The underlying cause of poverty, homelessness, limited access to high-quality health care is the lack of good jobs.  That is why PUP is involved in the fight to raise the minimum wage in Pennsylvania.
