NE Health Centers Budget Hearing Testimony

Last week PUP, along with our partners in the fight to build 2 new City Health Centers in Northeast Philadelphia, testified at City Council to urge them to support the project. We received a warm reception and it looks more and more like things could soon move forward. Together, the two Health Centers would serve 46,000 patients a year in a part of the city that some have called a health care desert. Poverty levels have increased by as much as 400% in some NE neighborhoods in the last few decades, and every day that the project is delayed is another day that residents miss out on vital care. Build the Health Centers now!
