PUP  FILED A PETITION on June 3 TO HALT SHERIFF SALES FOR 2 MONTHS due to an ongoing shutdown of the court’s computer system. We felt the need to protect homeowners from sheriff sales during the chaos of the computer shutdown. CLS, PLA and Senior Law Center represented PUP in the matter.

Judge New denied our motion to stop sheriff sales for 2 months or until the court computer system was restored.

“Losing your home is one of the worst things that can happen to a family,” Dodds said, adding, “There’s not going to be any great loss [to the sheriff] to postpone a month.”

Judge New disagreed.
