Since its inception after the cutoff of pandemic benefits in early September 2021, PUP’s Jobs Club has sought to help job-seekers re-entering the job market with finding work. Meeting biweekly, the club offers support in what can be a difficult and challenging process for many. While participants update each other about the successes, challenges, and best practices of applying for jobs, PUP staff have prepared a series of mini-trainings on topics related to a successful job search. Resume reviews and mock interviews are constantly being conducted and can be requested by any of our members at any time. Since the fall of 2021, we have covered the following topics at our meetings:
- Crafting a resume, including how to include AI-driven keywords used in applicant track systems
- Composing a cover letter that gets you to your first round interview
- Salary negotiation best practices
- Common interview questions and effective responses and interview techniques
The Philadelphia Jobs Club meets every other Thursday at 2pm via Zoom.
